About Kevin...
Kevin Blair is an actor, writer, theatre-maker, and casting associate. Originally from Northfield, Illinois, Kevin has been acting since the age of five. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, in the BFA Acting Class of 2018. Kevin loves working in the Chicago theatre community for the supportive and inspiring artists that create and live for the art.
Kevin is interested in Acting for the Television, Theatre, Writing for Stage and Screen, and Casting.
His works walk the line between horror and comedy, by exploring grief, themes of capitalism, and the environment we are nurtured in. He enjoys pieces that are FUN. If it's not fun, why do it?
While studying at UIUC, he had amazing opportunities performing at the Krannert Center for Performing Arts with the Department of Theatre, collaborating on improvisational works with the School of Music, and creating new works with student theatre organizations.
Training included a two year intensive studio exploring Mask work, Modern works, Shakespeare, Stage Combat, Accents and Dialects, Voiceovers, Musical Theatre, and Film/TV Acting. Kevin was extremely lucky to work with Shozo Sato, Japanese National Treasure and world renowned Kabuki Artist and Master of Zen Arts, on IAGO'S PLOT.
Other classes in Hip-Hop, Modern Dance and Contact Improv, as well as studying voice with Sarah Wigley and Kristin Sponcia.
During his junior year, Kevin created a new work in the Armory Free Theatre, A MIDSUMMER'S NIGHTMARE, which shared his love for cheesey-horror movies and the great outdoors. The play had a developmental reading with Theatre L'Acadie in 2022. He continues writing for the stage, including MARKETPLACE MAMA, seen in Footholds Vol. 4 by the Impostors Theatre Company in 2023.
Kevin has taken classes at The Actors Gymnasium in gymnastics, in hopes of developing his flexibility and physical work, and hopefully learn to do some sick BACKFLIPS!
Other training has been done at Vagabond (Film/TV) and SecondCity (Stand-Up/TV Writing).
Offstage, Kevin spends as much time as he can having fun out in the sun. You can often find him out on a run, going hiking for a weekend, or playing with his dog Matilda. Kevin is an Eagle Scout, and worked at Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Scout Reservation. Kevin is a proud supporter of Scouting for Equality, aiming to provide inclusivity to all interested in the organization.
He is a Co-Creator and the Casting Director of the comedy web series, I HATE YOU TOO, now streaming on Youtube.
Kevin is non-exclusively represented by Dream Team Talent Chicago.
